As children move into the independence of the pre-school years the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning.
Building on the primary areas covered in the early years, children now cover the more specific areas of learning and development as outlined in the Early Years Framework, including:
• understanding of the world
• expressive arts and design
At this stage children develop confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increasing understanding of the world and how it works.
All children are developing the dispositions and attitudes they need for the future, including being ready for school.OFSTED. Inspection Report March 2016
