Lady Castle Nursery shares its grounds with Bradford Girls’ Grammar School and as such is allowed access to many of the school’s excellent facilities.
With a structured and tailored programme of activity children learn how to take turns, follow instructions and play co-operatively with other children.
PE – Children attend weekly PE sessions in the school gymnasium which is equipped with rope swings, climbing frames, beams, mini trampolines and large crash mats.
Dance- A weekly dance lesson is conducted in the Sports Hall by a qualified professional dance instructor. Here a mirrored studio with a sprung floor provides an excellent area for learning steps and where the children can rehearse for their shows.
Whilst physical exercise strengthens muscles it can also help develop fine motor skills, develop co-ordination and balance. With physical exertion children also start to recognize changes to their bodies and the effect physical activity has on them.
Children display a good understanding of how eating healthily and exercise help them to build strong bodies and muscles.OFSTED. Inspection Report. March 2016
