It is important that children are healthy and active. Outdoor play provides safe, supervised opportunities for physical activity as well as promoting a sense of confidence and well being.
The outdoor areas have been specially designed and imaginatively resourced with gardens and vegetable plots, climbing equipment and an adventure playground, rope walks and sand pots. These all offer the experience of new challenges and adventures.
Full use is also made of the school grounds, which are full of trees, birds and wildlife so children have direct contact with nature and the changing seasons.
Key workers plan for outside play just the same as they do for all indoor activities to comprehensively cover all areas of learning and development.
“The indoor and outdoor learning environments are very stimulating and provide excellent opportunitise for children to make safe and independnet choices”.OFSTED Inspection Report. March 2016
